Best Electric Vans 2021

Top Commercial Electric Vehicles

The number of electric vans on the market continues to grow as the technology improves in the EV commercial vehicle sector. Large cities such as London continue to implement rules to help improve air quality, and so the uptake in electric vans is on the rise too as drivers look to avoid additional costs.

We also support businesses up and down the UK when they need a replacement EV with short-term electric van hire, or supply to those with a one-off journey, who want to avoid a congestion charge.

If you are unsure about which is the best electric van for your line of work, then you are in the right place to find out more, about the benefits of electric vans and to learn about some of the best electric van models available to buy in 2021.

Are Electric Vans Any Good?

Electric vans are brilliant for a number of reasons, and the good news is, they continue to get better and better, with payloads and range increasing.

  • Cheap to Run. Compared to the price of petrol or diesel, running an electric van is cheap, working out to be about 2p per mile. If you charge the vehicle at home overnight, smart chargers utilise electricity when it is at its cheapest price point, between £0.05-£0.10p per kWh. When on the road, some public charge points are free to use, but in the main, you are looking at around £0.40p per kWh when using Rapid Chargers. The UK charging infrastructure also continues to expand, meaning you are never too far away from a charging point.

  • Cheaper to Maintain. Electric vans are cheaper to service and maintain with less consumable components, something to consider for high mileage van drivers.

  • Better for the Environment. Zero emissions is great news for us all and electric vans are extremely quiet as well, reducing noise pollution.

  • Government Endorsement. With targets to hit regarding carbon emissions, electric vehicles are often exempt from congestions fees in order to encourage their use.

  • Incentives Available. No road tax is great news for electric van drivers, and grants are available to put towards the cost of the vehicle.

What Electric Vans Are Available to Hire From Volt-Age Today?

Diesel and petrol vans can make you unpopular in certain locations, emitting harmful emissions into the air. They may also restrict your ability to drive in certain city centre locations and cost you a fair amount in congestion fees.

If you want to address this, then why not take the first step and hire one of our latest electric van models.
