Volt-Age Electric Vehicle Hire

Same game, different rules, new players...

The electric vehicle revolution maybe well underway already, but things will get a whole lot more interesting in the next couple of years. 2019 is seen as the dawn of the new era, when the majority of the major car manufacturers will roll out a pure electric model, giving genuine competition to the likes of Tesla, but also models to compete with the i3 and Leaf.

We've picked out the vehicles we can't wait to get our hands on!

Porsche Taycan

The Porsche Taycan, which started life as the Mission E concept, has been confirmed as Porsche's first fully-electric car. The Taycan will top 310 miles of range, with a 0-60 time of less than 3.5 seconds.

Audi e-tron

Audi's first fling with fully electric vehicles is set to be very exciting (if their own claims are anything to go by) The Audi e-tron will offer a range of up to 310 miles and rapid, 150kW charging (if you can find a charger).  Acceleration from 0-62mph happens in just 4.6 seconds, which is sports car performance.

Mini Electric

Back in 2008, Mini offered an all electric version of their popular hatch across the U.K in very limited numbers, to assess electric vehicle feasibility. A full 10 years on, and the wait for a production vehicle is almost over. Due for release in 2019, the Mini Electric will be based on BMW's i3 and will retain most of the features found on it's petrol and diesel siblings.

Polestar 1&2

Volvo have decided to reinvent their performance engineering arm as a fully fledged brand in it's own right. Polestar will only create fully electric and electric hybrid vehicles from 2019, starting with a hybrid performance, Ford Mustang rival known as 1 (Ok, so we've cheated a little bit here, as it's not fully electric, but it does have a range of 97 miles of electric range). A fully electric medium sized vehicle known as 2 (seen in the above images below as a Volvo concept 40.2) will follow as a rival to the Model 3 Tesla that will offer 310 miles of range and have a £35,000 price tag.

Tesla Model 3

Already the big name E.V brand, Tesla have released in the Model 3 in the U.S with much fanfare and not without controversy. The Model 3 is still set to be a huge game changer when it launches in the UK offering a smaller, more affordable package than a Model S,

Honda Urban EV

The Urban EV may just be our favourite future electric vehicle. The Retro styled city car is likely to change before its production release, but Honda claim they will stay true to the concept as Jaguar did with the I-Pace. Details on price and expected range are yet to be announced.
